Using comment filters

Apply filters to get more granular analysis

Filters allow you to accurately change the data to display in your tables and charts, this guide will help you master the different types of filters and their functions.

Top filters

The top filters, or high-level filters, can be found on the top of most of your dashboard pages.

They can be found in this area:

There are 3 types of filters in this area.

  • The sentiment ones can be changed by selecting none, one or more or all of the sentiment pills in the Contributions section.
In the Respondents section, they will allow the same with respondent Status.
  • The proposals one in the top right corner allows you to choose which proposal data you would like to see. Using this one will hide all the other columns in the table and all their charts in the charts tab.
  • The date filter is a new filter allowing you to show data for the whole length of a project or specific timeframes.

Note: don’t forget to press 'Apply filters' to update the data shown.

All the filters applied here will stay on when you switch from a tab to another in a section.

Nested filters

Nested filters, or regular filters, can be found by clicking on this icon:

  • A topic (one of your questions for example)
  • A condition (is equal, contains, etc.)
  • A variable (it can be one of the questions options, free text, a number)

Finally, you can choose whether the different filters are cumulative or exclusive by choosing “And” or “Or” on the left.

Note: don’t forget to press “Apply filters” to update the data shown.

Filter use

Filters added to a view can be removed manually by de-selecting them and pressing 'Apply filters'.

All filters selected will affect the creation of a group of Contributions or Respondents, read more about groups here.

All filters selected will affect the creation of an export file, read more about exports here.
