When to create and edit demographic questions?
Demographic questions are important to understand the bigger picture behind visitors' comments. Knowing this information about your respondents allows you to identify whether there are any gaps in your engagement plan, and whether additional work is needed to target under-represented groups.
Demographic questions are anything that gives insight into the respondent (e.g. age, post code, employment status, education etc.
Top Tip
It is important to keep this in mind when formulating questions for your project - any questions that would reveal something personal about a respondent (such as their name, age or gender) should only be asked on the demographics page. Under demographics, we have; Standard demographic questions and Special category data questions. To read more on special category data questions, click here.
Please speak to your Customer Success Manager before you add, edit or delete your demographic question(s).
How to create and edit demographic questions?
1. You can edit the demographics page by clicking on the edit icon as shown in the red frame in the image below
2. Then, click on the dropdown menu at the top left corner of the page in edit mode to select the Demographics page as shown below.
Please note: You cannot modify or edit the text shown in the red frame in the images below as these are hard-coded.
In edit mode, there are two varieties of demographic questions.
a. Benchmark demographic question type: This is a ready to use template question with options provided. These template questions are already categorised as standard demographic questions and special category data. You cannot edit this template except where you are asked to explain why the question is relevant. They can only be added or removed.
3. In edit mode, click on the Add tab, drag the question block and drop this in the mobile phone screen as shown below. Then, click on the question block in the mobile phone screen (as shown in the video below) to view and edit its properties.
4. You can then edit (change the question and select the type of answers), duplicate or delete the question as shown in the video below.
