How to edit the hub page

The layout and design of the hub page is crucial to engagement, and can make the difference between a successful consultation and an unsuccessful one

What is the hub page?

The hub page is typically the landing page for most visitors, when they first visit the site, and this is why editing the hub page in the best way is crucial to the user journey and crucial in engaging people in conversation.

The hub page acts as a guide to direct visitors to leave their feedback, and also to provide clear concise information on what the consultation wants to achieve and how the respondent can help.

Top Tip

Don’t forget to add a project email address for your project team under the ‘contact us’ section, as it is best practice to include an email for those who want to get in touch about the consultation.

How to edit the hub page

1. Click on the edit option icon at the bottom right of the screen

2. Once in edit mode, you will find yourself already on the ‘hub page’ in edit mode. You will see the existing content fields on the left hand side (these are the content fields that are already on the hub page), the mobile screen view in the centre, and on the right hand side of the screen this is where the editing/formatting box is.

To edit a section, simply scroll down/up on mobile view, and select what you want to edit, or select the content field on the left hand side.

3. You can toggle on and off the content fields that are already on the hub, or you can add more content fields by selecting ‘+Add’. When you select add, you will see four types of content fields appear. You can drag and drop this on to the mobile screen, in the section you want it to live.

Project preview cards - to have a section of tiles on the hub, comprising of other projects with separate URL’s, drag and drop this onto the mobile view.

Page preview cards - to have a section of different proposal pages or map tiles, drag and drop this onto mobile view.

Custom content - this is a description box where you can add content

Contact team - this is where you add your organisations contact details and social media links

4. To edit the hero, select the hero on the mobile screen, and you can then upload an image to the hero banner, and edit the text in the description box. Ensure that you have added a clear call to action in the description, such as ‘have your say’, or ‘share your feedback below’.

5. To edit a pages or project preview section, you can add or click on the pages/project content field, and in the formatting box you can then customise the ‘List Label’ (or title) of the section. In the ‘Order’ section of the formatting box, you can select ‘Custom’ and here is where you can toggle on/off the projects/pages you want to be visible on the hub, and also reorder them by dragging them into order.

For anything custom, such as adding a navigation map on the hub, or if you want to customise the navigation bar, simply speak to your Customer Success Manager.
