Multilingual Commonplaces and translation

The Commonplace platform allows the translation of our websites into a number of different languages.

The translations are embedded into the site, and end users can toggle between different languages using a language toggle or dropdown menu at the top of the Commonplace page.

This functionality is an add-on to any Commonplace license. To introduce this to your site, speak to your Customer Success Manager (CSM) or your Account Manager and they will be able to provide you with a breakdown of pricing.

Please keep in mind:

  • The software does not currently accommodate the translation of images or graphics which contain English text.
  • The software offers machine and human translation, each of which comes with its own timeline and cost.
  • Translation can only occur on a site built in English, and will occur after the full Quality Assurance process has been completed and the English content has been finalised.

Commonplace currently supports the following languages (please note that some of these languages are only supported through human translation):

German, Italian, Urdu, Polish, Tamil, Gujarati, Punjabi, Turkish, Somali, and Spanish.

We are also able to translate Commonplace into any other language.

Translating Commonplace into a currently supported language takes 3 working days from the day the English language site is finalised.

Translating Commonplace into a language that we do not yet support takes 10 working days from the day the English language site is finalised.

Once your site is ready for translation, your CSM will manage the translation process.
