What is Special category data?
Special category data refers to all types of demographics data that is considered sensitive and needs to be treated differently to protect end users from being targeted individually. It gathers ethnicity, religion, sexual orientation and disability data.
The data is isolated and protected in our database and thus can’t be seen in the respondent dashboards.
It can, however, be accessed and used if you request it.
When to use Special category data?
You can request access to Special category data if and when you want to analyse the data alongside contributions, to better understand the audience.
How to download Special category data?
If you are interested in analysing your data in view of sensitive questions you need to fill the access request here: Special Category Data processing request
The form will first request the following information:
- Contact information
- Organisation & role
- Project information
You will then need to describe the need for the Special Category Data access, and the benefit it will unlock for your project and e-sign the form.
Once you have submitted the form you will receive a confirmation that your response has been recorded.
After approval
Upon verification and validation, when more than 25 respondents have answered a special category question, data will be available in the 'respondents' or 'contributions' sections, in the graph tab.
1. On a graph, select Pivot criteria.
2. A category called Special category will allow you to pivot and study your project demographics reach. You can then choose to download the raw data or the specific charts.
