2024 was a landmark year for Commonplace — a year of transformation, reflection, and renewed commitment to our mission of powering positive participation and putting people at the heart of place-making.
As a certified B Corporation, we’ve always held ourselves to high standards of transparency, social value, and community-led design. This year, we continued to build on that foundation, delivering measurable impact while expanding our ability to serve local authorities, developers, and — most importantly — the communities they work with.

A Platform with Purpose
With the release of our first Impact Report, we took a major step in publicly tracking and sharing our progress as a values-led business. This wasn’t just a milestone — it was a statement of intent: to keep measuring what matters and to hold ourselves accountable for delivering change.
Our commitment to collaboration and co-design has made Commonplace the UK’s leading community engagement platform for place-makers. In 2024, we strengthened that position by continuing to put community voices at the centre of planning, development, and regeneration decisions.
Highlights from 2024: Growing Our Impact
We’re proud of what we achieved in 2024 — not just in scale, but in deepening the quality and value of engagement across the UK. Here’s a snapshot:

✅ We reached over 10 million people, representing 18% of the UK population aged 13+ — a major milestone.

🔁 A record 30% repeat respondent rate in November 2024, reflecting increased trust and consistent use of the platform.

💬 78% of participants said, “The time I spend on Commonplace is worth it for the benefits I and my community gain” — our highest rating yet.
These metrics point to a more engaged public, a stronger platform, and growing confidence in Commonplace as a space for meaningful, ongoing dialogue between people and decision-makers.
As a B Corp: Progress, Not Perfection
Being a B Corp means always asking where we can do better — and being honest about where we still need to grow.
We know we haven’t yet maxed out our potential for social value. That’s why we’re investing time and energy into identifying the areas where we can go further, faster. With Zencity’s expanded product ecosystem and our shared focus on trust and transparency, we’re already seeing new ways to scale impact and improve outcomes for everyone.
