This role is about developing new and existing relationships within the built environment mainly focused on, but not limited to; local authorities, developers, architects, planners and public affairs companies.  

Current state of play:

Having closed a Series A funding round, we are committed to future growth of 100% year-on-year, seeing revenues rise from £1.5M to £3.2M from July20 to June21.

Who we are looking for:

We are looking for someone to help the development and growth of our work within the public or private sector, supporting the Business Development Managers in driving sales and the subsequent account management. 

You will be commercially minded; with some experience in a business development type role where you have contributed to creating strong client relationships and been a part of a revenue generating team.

This will all be built on the foundation of intelligence, excellent communication, and a passionate commitment to delivering an outstanding service to customers.

We’ll expect you to demonstrate the following skills, knowledge and behaviours:

Skills

  • Research and qualify prospective customers identified by the BDMs and make initial contact via relevant MQLs.
  • Provide client/market business intelligence to help targeting of prospective clients across specific sectors
  • Assist with day-to-day account management of existing relationships and nurturing of new relationships.
  • Liaise internally with product, customer success and marketing teams to understand fully the team portfolio of current and prospective projects.
  • Support the BDMs throughout the sales process of each new prospect.

Knowledge

  • A broad understanding of the ‘built environment’ would be useful.
  • Experience of using a CRM system, and other digital tools such as Slack and Google Docs.
  • Broad knowledge of how professional networking tools e.g. LinkedIn, social media and marketing campaigns can create sales leads.

Behaviours

  • An understanding cross-functional collaboration, and a willingness to support those around you.
  • Driven, self-starter attitude, supporting your team and BDM to hit several quarterly and annual targets such as company & team OKRs and revenue targets.
  • Energy and an appetite to work as part of a fast-paced team
  • Comfortable with the ambiguity and change inherent in the start-up and small company environment and the ability to work flexibly across the team and business.
  • Support your BDMs and wider team on new products, services, markets, and target relationships.
  • Self-development: an obvious desire to work up to BDM level over 12-18 months, with the team and your BDMs support.
